CLASS OF 2016

- If you are interested in the Governor's Scholars Program, talk to your counselor NOW.
- How are your grades? Your attendance record? Your participation level? Help is available if you need it through ESS, the Writing Center, Beta Club members, the Counseling Department and other places. Be proactive about your education!
- The PSAT exam is the gateway to the National Merit Scholarship program. The test is given during Junior year (optional for Sophomores - cost is $15), but start asking questions about it when your student is a Sophomore. National Merit is the largest single source scholarship organization in the U.S. Male historically has 1 - 2 finalist and 10 - 15 students receive scholarship money form this source, most of the time full scholarships to the college of their choice. This is a low number for a school that has a college prep focus and we believe Male has many more academically gifted students who could qualify. Even if you do not qualify for National Merit Scholarships, your test scores may attract interest from many colleges.
- What do you have to look forward to this school year? ACT and SAT Testing, HOBY participation, getting your drivers' permit, and no longer being a Freshman. Memories are yours to make.
